Joe’s Pizza and Pasta Palace has been prouldy serving the Franklin, Southampton, and Isle of Wight communities for over 40 years!
Giuseppe "Joe" Misseri moved to the City of Franklin from Palermo, Sicily in the Spring of 1978. Joe and his brothers, Nunzio and Gaspare, opened an Italian Restaurant within the Airway Shopping Center and named it "Three Guys". They worked there together for nearly 12 years before the opening of what we now know as "Joe's Pizza & Pasta Palace" in 1990.
Joe's has been serving many generations throughout the past several years and plans to continue the tradition thanks to the great customers, friends, and other patrons who have helped to make Joe's one of the best eateries in town!
In 2020 Joe's Pizza and Pasta Palace expanded its menu and entered an exciting new era under the management of Estela Ramos.
In Loving Memory of Joe Misseri
The passion to make a difference and a love for soccor led Joe to serve as a youth sports coach at the James L. Camp, Jr. Family YMCA for the last 10 years. Joe played soccer in Italy as a child, and when his children became old enough to play, Joe started coaching them at the Y. Joe shared his passion for the game by volunteering to coach the children of Franklin, Virginia.
Joe saw his players as family, having recalled how often they were running up to him for a hug upon seeing him. As the children continued developing their skills and potential through sports, Joe was there to build and share in their growth, encouraging them to do their best and have fun. Some of the children Joe coached in their youth later played alongside him in the Y's adult league, giving him the opportunity to continue mentoring them as young adults.
Joe built special relationships with all that he interacted with in the community. He left this world on October 21, 2019 after a long battle with a terminal illness.
